Hartberg is located at the foot of the Ringkogel Mountain. From far away the “Ringwarte” lookout platform, the town’s landmark, is already visible on its summit. Climb up its 99 steps and enjoy the breathtaking view of the hilly countryside of East Styria!

The Ringwarte Awaits You! 
Marked hiking trails lead from Hartberg’s town centre to the summit of the Ringkogel Mountain.
Approx. 7 km | walking time 3 hours | 420 m altitude difference| hiking maps are available at the Hartbergerland Tourist Office.

Celts, Romans, Legendary Figures
Archaeological circuit walk | approx. 1.5 km | from / to “Spielstätte” via the “Ringwarte”
Explore the historical traces left behind by the most important hilltop settlement in Eastern Styria. The hiking trail follows along the Celtic rampart, six stations with pictures inform about the local settlement history from the Celts to the Romans.

The southern slopes of the Ringkogel Mountain, due to their mild climate, are home to Styria’s northernmost vineyards. The Romans were the first to professionally cultivate wine. And today, in the 21st century, you can taste exquisite wines and regional specialties at the taverns of our wine growers.
