Grünberg Recreational Area

The local recreation area and hiker’s paradise on Gmundner Hausberg offers a leisurely variant to enjoy the magnificent view over Lake Traunsee from the summit!

Thanks to the barrier-free Grünberg cable car, the almost 600 meters in altitude up the Grünberg can be conquered comfortably and without effort. Also awaiting you at the summit are offers such as the 1.4 km long summer toboggan run, which proudly bears the name “Grünberg-Flitzer”, the easy panoramic circular trail, the hiking trail to Lake Laudach, nestled between Grünberg and the majestic Traunstein, or a cozy stop at the “Grünbergalm”.

The adventure playground as well as the low ropes course on the Grünberg plateau is a paradise for children and that at an altitude of almost 1,000 meters. The large children’s playground is located directly below the extended terrace and viewing platform of the Grünbergalm and leaves nothing to be desired.

From the launch site on the Grünberg in the immediate vicinity of the Grünbergalm, paragliders and hang gliders take off to lofty heights. The beautiful Salzkammergut offers fantastic views from the mountain to the valley.

Another highlight is the 3D archery course. This is located at the foot of the Traunstein directly behind the Seegasthof Hois’n Wirt. On an area of almost 7 hectares in the forest, the parcour is set for traditional archery. A total of 28 stations with domestic and exotic 3D targets will be available 365 days a year, offering sports and fun in the great outdoors.
