Bludenz
Marketplace and Meeting Place of five Alpine Valleys

Cobbled alleys, arcades and always a view of the nearby mountains: the Alpine town of Bludenz combines nature, culture and city in a stimulating way.

Shopping enthusiasts will find many small, lovingly decorated stores in the old town and the traditional cafés provide a very special kind of social contact. The alpine town also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights, with a wide range of restaurants. In Bludenz you can experience culture – cultural exhibitions, theater performances and concerts take place throughout the year. Especially in the summer months, a varied event program is also offered. With lively market hustle and bustle, you can stroll leisurely through the old town. Whether spring and autumn market, „Krämermarkt“, craft market or various other markets, there is something for everyone! On a guided tour of the town you will learn many secrets of the historic old town. A very special journey through the nocturnal Bludenz you will experience on a night watchman tour.

On the Muttersberg a cable car runs all year round and takes hikers and nature lovers up into the mountains in just a few minutes. From there you have an outstanding view of the entire Walgau region and the breathtaking mountain scenery that literally embraces the Alpine town. Summer and winter hiking opportunities for beginners and advanced hikers extend directly from the mountain station. In addition, the Muttersberg is an open-air gallery! On a circular path, seven artists express their connection to their homeland in the use of regional materials in their works of art.

In winter, Bludenz is a veritable ski carousel: several top ski areas are in the immediate vicinity. Opposite the town is the Brandnertal ski area with slopes at Loischkopf, Niggenkopf and the Palüd area. In the Klostertal, at the foot of the Arlberg, you can find the Sonnenkopf ski area with challenging deep snow slopes and great carving slopes. Not far from the Klostertal you will find “Ski Arlberg”, the largest connected ski area in Austria. The ski areas in Großes Walsertal (Faschina and the adjacent ski area Damüls, Sonntag-Stein and Raggal) offer every skier the right descent. Within reach are the top ski resorts Golm/Tschagguns, Silvretta Montafon/Schruns and St. Gallenkirch and the ski resort Gargellen in the Montafon. Those who want to end the evening on a leisurely note can enjoy the sauna area in Val Blu Resort. In the alpine town of Bludenz, no two days are the same in all seasons.
