The Paul Hofhaimer days in Radstadt, for years a tip for music lovers, offers 2019 an outstanding program. Old friends and exciting new discoveries bring life to the "Old City in the mountains."

Die Landesinnung der Berufsfotografen startet mit „Menschenbilder Salzburg 2019“ einen neue Outdoor-Wanderausstellung, die die Kunst der Fotografie ins Rampenlicht rücken soll. Knapp 30 Werke heimischer Berufsfotografen touren bis Ende August durch die Bezirke. Die großformatigen Fotografien sind an Fotobänken angebracht, die zum Verweilen und Genießen der Werke einladen. Von 28. Mai bis 10. Juni sind die Bilder in Radstadt am Stadtplatz zu sehen, wo am 29. Mai ab 19:00 Uhr eine Vernissage abgehalten wird.
„Die Bilder zeigen, dass es keine gleichen Menschen gibt. Jeder ist anders. Und mit der Kunst, kleinste Details wie Augen, Hände oder Haare in Szene zu setzen, bilden sie diese Vielfalt ab. Mit ihren Bildern erzählen die Fotografen die Geschichten dieser Menschen“, zeigt sich Salzburgs Innungsmeister Gerhard Sulzer beeindruckt von der Bandbreite und künstlerischen Qualität der Bilder. Ausgewählt wurden die Fotografien vom oberösterreichischen Starfotografen Horst Stasny.
Always at the last sunday in July the legendary "dumpling festival" in Radstadt takes place. The cooks along the Schernbergstraße serve around 20 (!) different kinds of these round treats. Enthusiasts can enjoy dumplings filled with ham, bacon, cheese, liver, plums, mushrooms, jam...
There are even ice cream and marzipan dumplings. A varied program on three different stages, including folk and pop music ensures entertainment.
The big festivity of the Radstadt guard - in the big tent and the historic town tower international folk-, brass- and partybands will performe and on Sunday there will be the great parade through the village.
After the mountain mass at the Roßbrand (1,768 m), which can also be reached on the 12 km-long Roßbrand-Panoramastrasse, there is a mountain festivity with folk-music on the summit.
Since 29 years the Radstadt artisan’s market is one of the highlights of the summer. Around 100 artisans and artists from Austria and Germany take part in Radstadt’s market. The market offers arts and crafts of the highest quality and you will find a large variety of exclusive artisanry like
felted, knitted and embroidered goods
glass and ceramic ware
Street musicians and theatre troupes provide entertainment.
The Mandling Pan party is a fixed part of the region's calendar of events. All sorts of delicious things around and in the pan and a draft beer, selected wines and a fast-paced folk music.
Also this year Radstadt presents a romantic christmas crib path along the city wall and in shop windows in Radstadt. The crib path will be presented from 1.12.2018 - 06.01.2019. Those who are interessted walk along 12 cribs on the beautiful snowy paths. The cribs are built by locals and crib builders from the surroundings show their best cribs in special glass boxes and shop windows. The exposed cribs all show the christmas story in their own special way. The crib path will be especially romantic in the evening.

This year’s Advent season again features Radstadt’s Christmas hikes. The traditional peaceful hikes through the romantic torchlit “Kaiserpromenade” are organized by the tourist association and take place on

- 26th Dezember 2019 always from 05.00 until 07.00 pm.
Beginning at the “Schwaigerkapelle”, you are accompanied by wind instruments all the way to the “Loretokirche”,
where you are invited inside by organ music and Christmas carols. Before heading through the Lärchenbach gorge with its “cloud of sound”,
Max Steiner tells his scary yet beautiful fairytales.
At the entrance to the “Kaiserpromenade” a large panel features the Christmas story according to the Gospel of Luke. After enjoying the tasty complementary Advent punch, the path continues past the scented cottage exhibiting Johann Mayrhofer’s beautiful nativity scene. The winter forest looks to be enchanted by the many colorful floodlights after which an Advent quartet awaits you, along with an angel to lead the way.
As you leave the Kaiserpromenade, past the three Magi who followed the star, you’ll have an unmatchable view of the illuminated city of Radstadt.
Also this year’s the “Alp’s longest Advent calendar” is a highlight of this walk. Twenty-four windows, illuminated from within, are positioned along the path, portraying Advent, Christmast and heritage themes.
Entrance fee for the Christmas hike is € 5.00 (children free). A good part of the proceeds is donated to charity. Solid shoes are neccesary!

In the heart of the historic city, the Christmas market adorns the wintry backdrop at Christmas time. On the Advent weekends as well as on two days between Christmas and New Year's Eve, the city dives deep into the Christmas magic. Just too perfect to set aside the pre-Christmas bustle and rummage around in the many lovingly decorated Christmas huts. The offer of goods is unique. The exhibitors score with regional craftsmanship, knitted and crocheted, jewelery and many, mainly homemade goods.

The popular and tradition-rich Amadé Radmarathon kicks off the spectacular Alpencup on May 24, 2020.
For the 27th time, some 1,000 cyclists will commence the race in Radstadt, along wonderful stretches of either 95 kilometers distance with a 1,535 meter climb or 146 kilometers with 2,221 meters difference in altitude. The route leads through 8 towns located in the Salzburger Sportwelt, while offering special highlights with breathtaking views, gradients of up to 16 % into the Preuneggtal valley, a 13 kilometer ramp from Schladming to the Dachstein’s Ramsau or a 12 kilometer descent to Filzmoos. Beginners as well as professionals will find this bike marathon to be a personal athletic challenge, accompanied by spectacular vistas of the Dachstein massif, the Bischofsmütze and the Tauern mountains.
