In its jubilee year, Freistadt’s events calendar includes numerous highlights: for a whole month Freistadt becomes “Fraustadt” dedicating itself to women, in May Freistadt hosts a great folk and riflemen’s festival, in July street artists from all around the world perform throughout the town during the Fantastika Festival, and the international film festival “The new Heimatfilm” takes place in August.
